Counselling First is a new social enterprise sent up in May 2013. It was established by two local psychotherapists wishing to give support and counselling to local disadvantaged people most in need. They provide one-to-one counselling services working on personal problems and issues in a room designed for this use.
Counselling First provide support as part of the Housing Options Support Team. They are linked to the Sherwood Family Partnership – a national pilot focussed on seamless delivery and joint spending decisions across agency boundaries.
The annual outcomes matrix provides evidence of social and health outcomes for the 12 Town & Country residents involved in this programme. Counselling First attended the Val Joy Awards.
Counselling First is also involved in the Foundation project, Access All Areas, offering counselling to those attending the training.
