Why did he/she join your project?
The learner joined the “Work in Progress Course” in Old Park with Working Futures and Mtc2.She is a tenant of Town and Country Housing Association She has a young child and has been unemployed for over a year. She wanted to get her confidence back to return to work and get an up to date CV so that she could start applying for jobs.
What were their learning skills needs? What outcomes did they desire?
She wanted to get her confidence back and recognise what skills she had. Her main aim was to get a CV so she could apply for jobs
What were the barriers to learning / what obstacles have they had to overcome?
Lack of confidence and self – esteem alongside lack of affordable and good quality child care.
What have their achievements been (employment / qualifications / soft outcomes)?
She applied to the Archers Public House as a cleaner with her CV. She was called in for interview the next day and within 15 minutes they offered her a part time job.
Her confidence has vastly increased. She said without the course she would not have been able to hand in her CV.
How has the PROJECT affected their life?
She is now working 5 hours per week and feels it is her first step back on the ladder of employment. .
She said “ I am so excited being back at work , thank you so much for your help on my CV and getting my confidence back”
What would they like to do when the programme finishes or progressions achieved?
Her Aspirations are to increase her hours in her new job but as her child gets older look for full time work.
