Jackie Sumner, Head of Community investment

I lead the Foundation and Community investment team whose mission is to create places where people prosper. We deliver community investment, social regeneration, customer engagement and tenancy sustainment on behalf of the housing group. We work on partnership and externally funded projects that make a positive difference to individuals, families and community lives.

We’re the people who actually make an impact in changing our local communities for the better.
Our projects aim at connecting people, supporting new initiatives and helping people who need help and support in learning skills,
employment, financial inclusion and health and wellbeing help meet people, who are in need of support through our ideas. inspiration and action.

Sarah Sobczak – Senior Fundraiser

I manage all aspects of the fundraising function, lead on the development and delivery of fundraising applications and assist Foundation team members to develop and manage capital and revenue bids.

Who we are

Sarah Holden – Community Investment Manager

I’m the Community Investment Manager for West Kent. I lead on customer engagement activities, tenancy sustainment & financial inclusion. I also write funding bids, board reports and develop strategy & policy.

Sara Hutchinson – Community Investment Manager

I lead on Employment, Skills and Training activities across both East and West Kent. This includes the delivery of pre employability support, apprenticeships, social enterprise/business development and accredited training. I lead on Digital Inclusion activities across both East and West Kent and Community Development and Resident Involvement in East Kent.

Roisin Donovan – Community Investment Officer

I work on the Health and Wellbeing area of our project delivery, which includes Foodbanks, DAVSS, Dementia and Mental Health. I plan events, training and partnership projects. I also run our social media networks and other day to day marketing.

Carol Francis – Customer Engagement Officer

I work to support the Community Investment Managers both West and East Kent with all things Resident Engagement. I arrange Pop Ups, liaise with Community Neighbours and Panel members. I facilitate meetings and events. I work closely with residents to support them with the various means of engagement with us.

Jo Ellis

Operations Director at Town & Country Housing

Jo has overall responsibility for the delivery of housing management services to our residents; this includes specialist services for our older and vulnerable residents via our Housing Options support team. She ensures that our residents receive a high quality repairs service and that all health and safety contracts are administered correctly.

Jo takes special interest in the Group’s charitable subsidiary Foundation, Community Development projects and leads the Group’s Resident Engagement activities.

Our Board

Marianne Hay – Chair

Marianne is a Consultant in Private Equity and other Financial Services and has previously held Director and Senior management positions at many large banks such as Standard Chartered, Citigroup and Morgan Stanley. She has been a member of the Court of the University of Greenwich and is a member of the University’s Finance Committee and Chair of their Investment Committee. Joined 2014.

John Ashelford

John is currently Chairman of Kent LINk and a Trustee of two local charities. Formerly CEO of Hospice in the Weald and Finance and Commercial Director of two national charities engaged in cancer research and children’s services. John previously held executive positions involved in pharmaceuticals, publishing, transportation, manufacturing, retail and the construction industry. Joined 2013.

Eamonn Dillon

Eamonn has worked at operational and strategic levels of business. He has an extensive range of local government and social housing experience and skills including social services for both adults and children. Eamonn is also a qualified and experienced executive and life coach, trainer and public speaker and has a passion for social change. Eamonn joined the Foundation Board in 2015.

Vivienne Packer

Viv has had experience working in public, not for profit and private sectors. She was Chair of Moat Housing Group, one of the larger housing associations in the South East. Vivienne is now a managing director of an established executive search business. Through her role on the Foundation Board, Vivienne hopes to help people who need to find a way to change their life or personal circumstances. Joined the Foundation Board in 2015.

Stephen Elsden

Stephen is Chief Executive at Compaid, a charity which supports disabled people throughout the South East of England. Before this, he worked for Leonard Cheshire Disability and the British Red Cross in a number of marketing and communications roles. Former Trustee of the Institute of Fundraising and former Chairman of Build Africa. Stephen was a founder of Professional Fundraising Magazine, and regularly writes and talks on charity issues. He joined the Foundation Board in 2015.

Bob Heapy

Bob joined Town & Country as Chief Executive in October 2010. Prior to this he successfully led a number of major organisations in both the public and private sectors and has more than 30 years’ experience in the construction and social housing sectors. He has had extensive experience in regeneration projects and is a quantity surveyor by profession. Joined 2010.
